Threads Of Love
I love vintage sewing notions to include buttons, thread and beautiful thread boxes.
This is a beautiful wooden thread box with the Clark's O.N.T. label on the inside.
I love the ornate clasp on the front of the box and it has a beautiful patina.
Sew beautiful...
I also recently found a thread box here in Korea. This one is more modern but still pretty neat.
The spools are skinny and long instead of short and chunky like we have in the States.
I have actually used some of the Korean thread and it is really nice. I plan to bring a set home with me when we return to the States.
And now for my new threads!! Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a thing for dresses and for dressing up. Recently I added two dresses to my collection that are just over the moon gorgeous. One I ma saving for our Ball in May but the other one I can share with you now.
My Cinderella Dress
Front
This is kind of like a quilted dress. The images sewn into it are carriages and glass slippers. It has a pretty tulle underskirt and more.
Back
Love the ribbon lace up back.
The beautiful tag.
This is stitched on to the side hem of the dress.
I am thinking I should so wear this to see the new Cinderella movie, what do you think?
Loving my new threads!!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you! Hugs!
Thank you Stephanie for visiting and for your sweet comments. Hugs, Beverly
DeleteThat is pretty thread and holders. The cinderella dress is pretty too and would be perfect to wear to the movie!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Julie. I am very happy with the dress as it is very well made and has so much details. Hugs, Beverly
DeleteI think you must go shopping for clear glass slippers!! Wow Beverly, that dress is gorgeous! ! I love those pretty straps...so soft. I loved Cinderella as a child and my cakes always had that for the theme! Wear that dress and make sure Eric wears a Prince Charming suit! So glad he is your Prince! Have fun wearing it!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Doni
Thank you Doni and I love the dress as well. The straps actually spread out and cover your shoulders very well. I am funny about coverage but I do love a pretty dress and a wrap can always help. The blue is so beautiful and I am tickled pink with my dress. Do you know I actually did look for clear slippers and I found a bunch of them. I am not sure that I could wear them but I know I will find something to go with it. Eris told me when he saw the dress that he could wear his dress blues. He really is my Prince in soldier form. Hugs, Beverly
DeleteWhat a treasure, vintage threads. I have some also that I cherish.
ReplyDeleteI used to sew in a Senior's home, (doing repairs) so I accumulated a lot of old sewing treasures.
One day I will blog them. I have never seen Korean thread. Thanks for sharing.
