VALENTINE'S DAY DRESS FORM

Valentine's Day Dress Form

So I had this little dress form that I found here in Korea when I visited the fabric district in Seoul.  She is a sweet little girl and I decided (at least for now) to decorate her for Valentine's Day.

Here she is again.

The first thing I did was run some pink tulle through the sewing machine with my widest stitch so that I could gather the tulle fabric. Then I simply wrapped it around her and pinned it in the back.

Then I added a pretty Korean ribbon around her waist.

Then a bow...

Okay so then I realized she needed a top, seriously...

So I took some tulle and pinned it to the back middle and pulled it over her shoulders and pinned it in the front. Then I reattached the pretty bow.

Then I went digging in my ribbon box and found this fabulous pink ribbon with the words Happy Valentine's Day printed on it, how lucky was that...

Oh and I found a stack of Valentine's Day heart shaped doilies!!!

Now she has wings!!!

To bad I can't find a small bow and arrow...

I added a pretty red one to the front under her ribbon.

Now she was all dressed and ready to go on display for Valentine's Day!
isn't she lovely...

I have hit a milestone, this is my 350th blog post!!!

  4. Lovely! I just love how you can zip zip zip a little ballet tutu skirt in a jiffy! I'd still be trying to figure out how to set my machine on the widest stitch! LOL.

Congrats on the 350th! It amazes me too, how long I've been blogging. I hope you'll share some of your Limoges porcelain with my "Let's Talk Vintage" link party next week (or sometime in the future)!

  5. She is such a lovely dress form - marvelous size and shape, and what a grand model she makes, too. You're adorned her gorgeously and brought out the best of the feminine palette that Valentine's Day has to offer. Wonderful work!

*PS* That floral print ribbon is stunning!

    1. Thank you dearest Jessica, I had so much fun putting her together. I have so many serendipitous moments when I am creating things. I started out making her to plt brooches on and somehow she became a Valentine's Day decoration??? She may still yet become a display for some of my favorite brooches but for now I love how she turned out. Gentle hugs, Beverly

PS: I know right!!! I was digging in my ribbon box (which happens to be a 1950's breadbox) and I found that ribbon and that is how this all happened.....
