Limoges Syrup Pitcher


Some of my Limoges pieces are just so special and oh so lovely.  One such piece is my Limoges Syrup Pitcher. 

This special piece is a very hard to find Limoges syrup pitcher. It is such a fabulous item and one of my treasures.  It has a lid that comes off and then locks down so that you can pour your syrup without the lid falling off.  

 Just imagine eating fluffy waffles or pancakes and pouring your syrup from this beauty.  This certainly could make breakfast feel soooooo special.  Isn't it beautiful?

I love the soft beautiful pink roses and the beautiful blue.  Just a lovely piece of Limoges.

#11 LIMOGES NAPPY

Limoges Nappy

This is a beautiful Limoges nappy with hand painted birds and flowers.  It is hard to find pieces with birds on them so this is a treasure to me.  It is accented in 22K gold on the handle and around the edges.   A nappy is used to serve things like lemon slices, little candies, etc.  Nappy comes in different sizes, this is a larger nappy.

Today these work well as a dresser tray.

#10 LIMOGES - TINY ART - BROOCHES, EARRINGS and A KEY FOB (RARE)

Limoges brooches, earrings and a key fob

In keeping with posting my brooches, I thought I would finish up adding my small Limoges items.  In this picture are four of my favorite brooches (one long bar brooch), earrings (bobs) and a rare watch/key fob. The brooches shown here are my favorite floral brooches. The earrings have a screw backing on them and I once tried to put them on and it hurts... I do not know how anyone ever wore them but they are beautiful.  The key fob has three pieces and they are attached with tiny chains. I am very lucky to have this piece. I made a frame holder to display them in. I used a canvas and wrapped it with gathered pink tulle and I simply pinned my items on it. It makes a lovely display.

#8 LIMOGES LADY BROOCHES

Limoges Lady Brooches

Today I am sharing my Limoges Lady Brooches.  I only have a few of these in my collection but I so love them. I do not know if any of my brooches are marked or not because I refuse to remove their antique pin backs.  Although many of the blanks for these were never stamped anyway.  However, like my buttons they are hard paste kaolin porcelain. I just think they are so lovely.  

First I have a beautiful lady decorated with

22K gold and turquoise.

Next I have a Beautiful Lady with a simply 22K gold edge.

My next one was very difficult to photograph but you can see it well enough to get an idea of what it looks like.

And I have saved the BEST for last.  This is my absolute favorite Lady Brooch of all.   There was a lot of love that went into this beautiful piece.  I consider it a tiny little work of art.   I actually do wear this brooch from time to time.  Although I worry when I do and I constantly check to make sure it is still there.

#7 LIMOGES SHANK BUTTONS AND DRESS FORM SHELVES

Today I kind of wanted to take a break from posting my Limoges pieces, well kind of.... I decided to share my vintage shank buttons.  Most of my small collection of buttons are not marked but we tend to still call them Limoges Shank Buttons.  They are hard paste Kaolin buttons and they certainly look and feel as if they are of higher quality.  I only have a small collection and I love to display them so that I can enjoy them.  I typically have them hanging over my vanity in our bedroom but I took them down to share.  Don't worry they are going right back in their little space.

I do so love to live with my collections and have them on display so that everyone who enters our home can enjoy them.  Now mind you, not everyone that enters our home understands my decor or my collections but in one way or another I think they are impressed, hopefully in a good way. I once had an insurance person ask me if they could take pictures of my living room (where I have tons of Limoges) so they could share the pictures with their mother.   I of course was delighted to oblige them.

So I decided to display my buttons on a ribbon with a bow. I got the idea from the hair clip ribbons I have seen around.  I first made a bow and then a long double ribbon.  Then I cut little slits in the ribbon and measured them out so the shanks would be spread out evenly on the ribbon.  Then I simply pushed the shank through the ribbon to the back and instantly I had a beautiful display piece.  I love my little shank buttons as they are all a work of art.


I have included pictures for you to see how I display them and to enjoy my collection.

This is my collection of vintage shank buttons.

Here I made the bow and ribbon and cut little slits in the ribbon for the shank buttons.

Then I pushed the shanks through the ribbon.

And here are my shank buttons on display.

Here is an older picture of both my button display ribbon and one I made for brooches.   If you are making a display for brooches do not cut slits, just simply pin your brooches to the ribbon.

Dress Form Shelves

While visiting one of my favorite shops, I found this dress form that someone had made into shelves.  It was not in the best shape and was a tan color.  I fell in love with it and i had to bring it home with me.  I painted it MANY coats of pink paint.  I then added all sorts of trims and decorations to include a few beautiful Limoges buttons.  

I use my beautiful pink lady to hold my perfumes and makeup.  See the little bird on her shoulder....

I love to recycle and reuse.  
I always see things for what they could be and this is one of those beautiful things.  My Pink Lady now has a second life. 

I am delighted with her!!!

#4 BAVARIA BERRY SET

Bavaria Berry Set

I love Limoges but I also love Bavarian Porcelain as well.  Similar to Limoges, Bavarian porcelain is also a hard paste porcelain.  Therefore it is very durable and long lasting.   Many pieces I find were hand painted just like many Limoges pieces.  The up side is Bavarian porcelain is usually less expensive to purchase.  I am more likely to actually use my Bavarian pieces.  

This is a lovely berry set with 7 pieces in all.  Berry sets can also be used for Ice Cream Puddings and just about anything you might want to serve.  I love the pink roses and the pink delicate pink shading on this set.  

This is actually one of my favorites.  There is just something about this beautiful set that appeals to my feminine side.  It is so very feminine, delicate and lovely.

#3 BAVARIA BIRD PLATE

Bavaria Bird Plate

This is a beautiful large Bavarian Bird Plate. It is hand painted with both beautiful birds and sweet pink roses.  
I have this plate hanging on my wall in my Living Room. 
It makes me smiles whenever I walk by and see it.
I was so happy when I found it.  It is hard to find a beautiful plate with pink roses and Blue Birds. I actually won this item on eBay about 5 years ago.

Bavarian Set

This is my Luncheon Set

I have approx. 16 pieces that I display

and a few extras just in case.

There are 4 plates, 4 smaller plates,

4 cups and 4 saucers.

I love the beautiful touches of soft blue

 with the beautiful soft pink roses.

This is a beautiful and delicate

Bavarian Tea Set and Salt and Pepper Set.

Porcelain from Bavaria is a hard paste

much like Limoges. 

It retains it's original beauty year after year..

It is very collectible and a little less expensive than Limoges porcelain. It makes a great collectible for new collectors and it great to use everyday.

I love pieces with beautiful soft pinks and blues in them.  They fit well with my love of  Shabby Chic decor.

These are my set of Limoges Berry Bowls with Apple Blossoms on them.  These were recently added to my Blog but I wanted to add them again and show the markings on them.  I was very lucky to get these beauties for only

$1.00 plus shipping. They are in excellent condition and beautifully hand painted.

#4 LIMOGES TEA SET WITH TRAY

Limoges Tea Set with Tray

Today I am sharing my Limoges tea set.  This set includes 6 pieces including tray, pot, sugar, creamer and 2 lids.

 The plate in the background of the picture will be featured alone later.  Although it looks fabulous with the tea set it was not part of  it originally.  

This is a smaller more dainty tea set and is perfect for two.  A romantic tea with your prince charming or perhaps tea with your best girl friend or your precious daughter. 

Flip side of pieces shown below.

The back of each piece is just as lovely as the front.  It is hard to tell which is the front and which is the back.  

The pot, sugar and creamer are all marked
