#3 LIMOGES BUTTER PATS

Limoges Butter Pats

This is a set of Limoges Butter Pats. I fell in love with the artwork on these little beauties. They are so perfect and sweet. I have a complete set of six. Each one is just as lovely as the first. These would have been used to place a pat of butter on at each place setting or to serve as needed.

Aren't they lovely!

Here they are in all their stacked up loveliness.

I like to use my butter pats in photos with my brooches and other pieces of jewelry. Here is one of them with my silver spoon brooch. My little spoon is for Fibromyalgia, so that I will always have an extra spoon. Yeah, I am a spoonie....

These are simply marked

#2 LIMOGES SILVERWARE CADDY

Limoges Silverware Caddy

This piece is a bit of a mystery to me but I believe it is a silverware caddy - tray. That is what I was told when I bought it and that is in fact what I use it for. It holds my h'orderve spoons and forks.

It is painted in the most beautiful colors of pink, soft blue and green. Just a lovely display dish.

Here it is with my spoons and forks. These are vintage silver (they need polishing) spoons and forks.

#1 LIMOGES CUSPIDOR

LIMOGES CUSPIDOR

As promised I am going to start posting my porcelain pieces and I have picked my cuspidor as my first piece to show. Now mind you I would never use this cuspidor for it's intended purpose, who would. I love it for it's feminine beauty. I wanted this particular piece for sometime and I was so happy to finally get one. What I love about it is that it looks like a little drawstring purse. Mine is painted on the outside with hints of light blue and the inside has beautiful delicate roses in pink hues.

Draw String painted a beautiful 22K gold.

Lovely and delicate pink roses on the inside.

Isn't she gorgeous!

This is a fabulous set of berry bowls.

They are hand painted Limoges from the early 1900's.

I got them for $1.00 plus shipping several years ago.

This is probably the best deal I have ever gotten on any of my Limoges pieces.

I think they are lovely!

Today was a good day for me. I so love going to craft stores and finding a great sale or clearance on lots of lovely crafting items. Today we went by Michael's and we found tons of goodies on SALE for jewelry making!!!! Tiffany and I will be having some fun making pretty jewelry for ourselves. I will have to post pictures as we make our items.

CRAFTING TREASURES - GRAPHICS AND TINSEL!!

Being an avid crafter I am always on the look out for fabulous finds. You know those things that inspire you and that you just simply can not resist. Recently while visiting my local Michael's Craft Store I found the BEST EVER tiny tinsel. It is that oh so fabulous tinsel that is so useful in crafting. What was unique about this tinsel was that it was on a spool with the most beautiful graphic of a cherub. I grabbed it and said this "mine"....

Well as I looked at it I realized there was no price on it and I wondered how much it might cost. I found all the other things I needed and off I went to the checkout. So I told the lady that I wanted this tinsel but it had no price on it. She checked with her manager and much to my surprise I got the entire roll for only $1.00.

Now you know only a true crafter, collector, lover of all things beautiful would consider this a momentous event, right? Well that girl is me for sure. So my highlight of the week maybe even my month was a spool of beautiful tiny tinsel with a cherub graphic on both ends. Oh how happy I was......

MY TINY RED VELVET CHRISTMAS DRESS

I know it is not the Christmas Season but I have been feeling very nostalgic lately. This always brings me back to thoughts of my Grandmother and all the things I loved as a small child. I am very lucky to still have a red velvet dress that my Grandmother bought for me when I was very small. I added a flower and pearls to it and took it out to take some pictures. So here is my little red velvet dress some 45 plus years after I wore it on that Christmas Day so long ago.....

PAPER DOLLS

When I was a little girl I loved Paper Dolls. I loved ALL paper dolls and I had tons of them. As an adult I love to see images of vintage paper dolls from days gone by. Recently I stumbled onto a fabulous website with all sorts of paper dolls on it. In my excitement I wanted to share a link to this fabulous site. This lady has worked HARD to collect and share her love of paper dolls with others. I could not believe my eyes when I saw everything she has so graciously shared with everyone. Pay her site a visit and I am sure you will be equally as amazed as I am.

In today's hard times this is a fabulous idea

FRIED LEFTOVER MACORONI AND CHEESE BALL RECIPE

Fried Leftover Macaroni and Cheese Ball Recipe

I recently found a recipe using leftover Mac and Cheese to make fried Mac and Cheese Balls. I pinned it onto my PINTEREST and it was a BIG hit. I wanted to share the recipe here on my blog. You can find the recipe and MUCH more here on this fabulous blog:

I used Kraft Deluxe Mac and Cheese and it works fabulous.

Fried Mac & Cheese Balls

makes 8

2 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoon flour

3/4 cup half and half

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1 packed cup leftover mac & cheese (I used Kraft)

1/2 cup flour
1 beaten egg

1 cup panko (you can also use regular bread crumbs)

Parmesan cheese for serving

Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add the flour and stir vigorously until the mixture is bubbling. Remove the pan from the heat, then slowly whisk in the half and half until it is fully incorporated and there are no lumps. Return the pan to a medium-low heat stove and use a silicone spatula to continuously scrape the bottom of the pan to keep the sauce from burning. When the sauce is thick and bubbly, remove the pan from the heat and add the mac & cheese. Stir to combine, then taste for salt and adjust as needed. Cool to room temperature, then place the mixture into the fridge to harden.

Once the macaroni mixture has cooled, it will be very firm. Use a spoon to scoop out a 1 1/2″ ball, then roll it between your hands to make it round, pressing down a bit to remove any air pockets. You should be able to make about 8 balls.

Add about 2 inches of oil into a heavy bottomed pot. Turn the heat onto medium high, and watch for the temperature to reach about 320 degrees F. In the mean time, get 3 shallow bowls out, and put the flour in one, the egg in another and the panko in the third. Roll each ball in the flour to coat evenly, then in the egg (make sure it’s well coated with egg or the panko won’t stick). Lastly, drop the balls in the panko and roll around to coat evenly.

Line a wire rack with paper towels to place the balls on once they’re fried. Fry each ball, rolling them around so they brown evenly until they are golden brown and crisp. Transfer the fried mac and cheese balls to a paper towel lined rack and let them drain. Let them cool for a minute before serving, then top with plenty of grated cheese.

OUR WEDDING DAY OCTOBER 7

Our Wedding Day

Many Years Ago...

Eric and I had a beautiful wedding. Our friends came together and threw us a wedding. We were married at my friend Glenna's home and she provided the cake and food and helped with decorations. My friend Paula provided my bouquet and was my maid of honor. My friend Melissa paid for and arranged for the Justice of the Peace to come and marry us. My friend JD played all our music on his portable piano. Zak was the cameraman and recorded our wedding for us. My Mom provided our champagne flutes. Rick took all the pictures. I hope I have not forgotten anyone or anything.

Because of this our wedding was a truly special event. Not only did I marry my beautiful husband but our wedding was a gift from all our friends. Not only did they share in our day of celebration but it was a success because of them. I am eternally grateful for one of the best days in my life. I love you all.

So finally after many years I got around to scanning all our wedding photos into my computer. I think it is uber important to do this just in case anything should ever happen to your photos. Not to mention that I simply wanted to share my pictures in memory of our wedding day but also in memory for my friends.

NEW HANDMADE NECKLACE

Well I felt the need to make another necklace for myself. With this one I can use my collection of Limoges Brooches. I used vintage ribbon that has been hand stamped with CROWNS and the word PARIS on it. I also used vintage glass pearls and of course my brooches.

I also have this beautiful vintage pink glass pearls that I can add any of my brooches to or the flowers. Here is a picture with one of my brooches. I think this is a lovely look and added a sweet ribbon bow as well.

I recently made myself a few necklaces from beads, ribbon, fabric flowers and brooches. I like them because it gives me a chance to use some of my Limoges Brooches and also use those pretty flowers that we all love. As I was making them I enjoyed gathering up all my Limoges Brooches and I decided to take a few pictures.
