Pink Santa Canvas

Pink Santa Canvas

I wanted a piece of art featuring a pink Santa.  I dug deep into my computer images and found a pink Santa.  My daughter enlarged it to an 8 X 10 image.  I printed it on printer fabric and then I attached it to a regular canvas with a wooden frame.  I added a pretty pink frame that I had around the house. I added a pretty vintage seam binding bow and mica to give him that little something extra.   I am tickled pink with him.

Shabby Chic Pink Santa Display

Shabby Chic Pink Santa Display

Last year Target offered a small line of Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic Christmas decor.  They had this beautiful pink Santa.  This year I decided to use him in a large display piece.

I placed him inside a beautiful French wire basket from Joanna Gaines;

I added lots of pretty items including roses, tree trimmings, a small pink stocking, bottlebrush tree, pink glass ornaments, and various other items.

A Liner for my Vintage Styled Laundry Basket

A Liner for my Vintage Styled Laundry Basket

I have wanted a vintage collapsible wire laundry basket for years.  I would look for them every time I was in an antique store and although I have seen some they were either overpriced or the wheels didn't work.

I wanted it to function because I intended to use it.  So I opted for a brand new one that I found on Amazon.  I worried about the quality of it and then it arrived and it was so well made and functioned perfectly.

I decided I wanted to make a liner both for functionality and to make it beautiful.  I used some Shabby Chic bedding that I no longer use and made a pretty reversible lining.  I use my basket every time I do our laundry.  I even push it from room to room while I put things away.  No more carrying laundry for this girl, instead, I get to push it around in my lovely basket.

Wishing everyone in the US a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Ikea placemats made even more beautiful!

I recently purchased these pretty pink placemats from Ikea.  I loved that they were well made and the color was perfect for our morning room.  However, I felt they were plain and I wanted to add something to them to make them special.

I decided to stencil them using my crown stencil.  I used fabric paint and my Martha Stewart stencil brushes.

I did six of them for our table but I am currently only using four of them.  They turned out perfectly and I love how they look on our table.

So pretty...

This is an idea you can use for any fabric placemat.  It is a great way to personalize your placemats and make them match your decor.

Just have fun,

Pretty Chair Seat Covers
from French Aprons

It has been some time since I have posted on my blog.  While I was out shopping today with my daughter, she mentioned that she loved my blog.  It reminded me of why I started my blog in the first place.  I wanted to create a space for me to share all the things that I love.  So tonight I found myself here at the computer working on a new post.  Hope you enjoy...

While we were in Korea I found these really cute pink aprons with French script on them.  When I found them I imagined that they would make beautiful covers for my dining room chairs.  I purchase as many of them as I could find.  The best part is that they were only 3000 won, which was about $2.70 each.  I ended up with 6 of them so I had 4 for my chairs and 2 extra.

I first had to remove the pockets from them and then open up the hems to make the fabric wide enough for the chairs.  Much to my delight, they were just the right size to cover the chairs.

I think they are precious and I was so pleased that it worked just the way I had envisioned it.

Here are all four chairs in our formal dining room.

I have been enjoying decorating our new home.  It is a work in progress and I hope to be sharing some of my recent and future projects.

Have a beautiful day,
