Tea Party Preparations
This week I did not have much time to craft because we have been setting up for our tea party on July 6th. My beautiful daughter Tiffany turned seventeen on July 4th! I look at her and she is becoming such an amazing and grown up version of my little girl. She only weighed 2lbs 6oz when she was born three months early and I was so afraid. What an amazing blessing she is and I treasure every moment we have together.

Saturday we will have her tea party and we are super excited. We are making cupcakes, french macaroons, a veggie tray, our beautiful summer salad, chicken broccoli casserole and a demi bread. We also made our rose sugar cubes (for tea), white chocolate spoons and white chocolate mint rose (candy). We will be serving all sorts of different teas to include our special Marie Antoinette tea and an ice tea with frozen lemon ring in a punch bowl. We will be giving out bookmarks, tea bag gifts and a small bag of candy. I will be sure to share photos from the day with you here at Tea Cottage Pretties, so be sure to drop back by to visit us.

Here is a sneak peak at the decorations, please excuse the lighting it was late when we were working on this.
My Fascinator
I also made a fascinator for myself this week to wear to the party. I had shared my ribbonwork brooch last week and I made a headpiece to pin it on, then I can remove it after the party to wear as a brooch. Here is my fascinator.
To make the fascinator I simply used a pink ribbon covered headband and I made a large bow out of pink tulle. I added some pink glass pearls and pinned the ribbonwork brooch on to it. I think it makes a lovely fascinator. If you are in need of that something extra special please visit my friend Dana on Etsy. Here is a link to her shop, you won't be disappointed.

(Tell her Beverly sent you)
I found a couple very precious things this week at Mod Cloth and I had to share them. I got the sweetest pair of shoes and I have a beautiful dress on the way, I so hope it fits. Maybe I will show off the dress in a future post.....
See you after the Tea Party

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tea party setting! Love all the pink pretties - the pom poms hanging from the ceiling add great whimsy to the party. Your daughter is quite fortunate to have you for a mommy - and she is quite lovely, herself! Hope the party was fun. Cheers, Catherine (new follower)
