SPRINGTIME

Springtime

I stepped outside today and I was greeted with the lovely aroma of blossoms.  I looked around and much to my surprise these beautiful blossoms just seem to have come from nowhere.  I don't think they were here yesterday?  I know I saw the cherry blossoms but had I somehow missed these lovely bushes?

These are in our garden courtyard where we live.

I love how each one is a combination of pinks and reds.

With the arrival of Spring we traveled to Seoul this past weekend for our military ball and the gardens there were so beautiful.

For our ball this year I decided to wear a vintage inspired dress and shoes.  The shoes are character shoes that are made of leather both the uppers and soles.  I wanted to be comfortable after last years struggle to wear strappy shoes, these shoes did the trick!!!

Updated 05/11/2015 with our photos from the ball.

Our venue The Regency at the Grand Hyatt.

Doesn't this picture look like something from The Great Gatsby?

Our table...

We enjoyed a lovely evening of food and entertainment.

We enjoyed music by Violet.  I was not able to get a good picture but here is a link to their music.  They were fabulous..

This was truly one of the nicest balls I have ever attended and such a lovely Spring evening.  There was a light rain and the air was nice and cool.

Hope you are enjoying Spring wherever you may be and for my friends below the equator hope you are having a beautiful Fall.

Be sure to come back soon to visit. my next post will be a baked apple roses by Beverly and Tiffany!
We're excited!!!

Happy Spring,
Beverly

  3. What radiantly gorgeous blooms! And speaking of beautiful things, you look head-turningly marvelous in your ball gown. What an elegant, wonderful event and opportunity to dress up. Life just doesn't provide most of us with enough of those, if you ask me (and all the more so for us chronic illness fighters).

Sending oodles of gentle hugs your way,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. Jessica, you are so right, I wish the times that we live in today offered more opportunities to dress up. I always look at vintage videos and photos and everyone is so dressed up. I dress up most days anyway although not as elegant as for the ball but still overly dressed compared to others. I just think throwing anything on and running out of the house is not my thing you know. My dress was a vintage inspired dress from Collectif. It is an absolutely stunning dress. I wanted to wear this to the ball even though it was not your typical formal and I must say I felt more like me in this dress. After last years failed attempt to wear a modern day formal i promised myself I would wear what I feel comfortable in and what makes me happy. I am glad I wore it and although no one complimented my dress (okay one lady did) I did not care. It had tons of layers and moved so beautifully as I walked and I felt like a million dollars. I even danced with my prince and it was wonderful. Gentle hugs, Beverly
