CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

A few days after we arrived in Korea a group of people we met told us about the strawberries here in Korea.  They raved about how wonderful the strawberries were and how we have never tasted anything like them ever. We were told to wait until December when it would be strawberry season and to buy them at the market.

The market is in a village that we lovingly call "The Ville" and it happens on the days of the month that end in 3 or 8.  There are so many wonderful things to choose from each time we go there is something new.  Going to the market is an adventure in and of itself.  I shared some photos of the market with you in my previous post so here is a collage of those photos.

Tiffany and I went right before Christmas on the 23rd of December.  We wanted to find strawberries and other fresh fruits and veggies for our celebration and we were not disappointed.  We found so many great things but the best was the strawberries.  We found regular sized strawberries and we also found extra large strawberries that were perfect for covering in delicious chocolate.

Ghirardelli chocolate that is...

We melted the chocolate wafers in a double boiler and then we put about half in a squirt bottle.  We dipped half the strawberries in white chocolate and the other half in dark chocolate.  We laid them on wax paper and then we used our squirt bottles to drizzle the opposite chocolate on them.

We ended up with the most scrumptious chocolate covered strawberries.

Have you tried your hand at making fresh homemade chocolate covered strawberries?
This is a great project to do with your children and the end result is fabulous!

Korea does in fact have the best strawberries I have ever tasted.  They are so sweet and juicy and just packed with flavor.  These are truly beyond compare...

Making goodness at home,
